A man has been charged with murder after the death of ‘a happy young woman with her whole life ahead of her’.

Emergency services raced to Knowsley Heights, Huyton, on Tuesday evening after reports of a stabbing following a domestic incident.

Merseyside Police arrived to find Rebekah Campbell, 32, fighting for her life. She was raced to hospital, where she tragically died of her injuries.

Michael Ormandy, 34, was arrested the night of the 32-year-old’s death at the block of flats and was charged today with murder.

Ms Campbell’s family described her as ‘a happy young woman with her whole life ahead of her and had a genuine heart of gold’.

They continued: ‘If it meant putting herself out to help someone, she wouldn’t hesitate.

‘We are so proud of her. She was a support for vulnerable people and would use her own experiences to make other lives better.

The outpouring of support and condolences has been greatly appreciated by us, as we were unaware of the extent of Rebekah’s impact on others, underscoring just how special she truly was.

‘As a family we would appreciate privacy at this time,’ they said, adding that Ms Campbell was ‘our everything’.

On social media, a collection of heartfelt tributes from Rebekah’s friends and loved ones have been circulating, painting a picture of a ‘beautiful, caring’ individual who cherished the company of her family and friends.

One such tribute came from Lauren Groves, who expressed disbelief at the news and sent thoughts to Rebekah Louise’s family during this difficult time, adding a hopeful sentiment of meeting again in the future.

Chelsea Campbell said: ‘Until we meet again our queen. Always look up to you even while you’re not here.’ Antonia Evans said: ‘Forever young our beautiful girl, I will love and miss you forever.’
