Texas Woman Found Dead After Boyfriend Tells Friend He Thinks He ‘Blacked Out’ And Killed Her

A Texas man has been charged with murder after telling a friend he thought he had “blacked out” and “killed his girlfriend” Monday night.

A 30-year-old man named Dylan Jones was chased by Fort Worth police for 40 minutes until they used road spikes to puncture his tires, causing him to crash, as reported by KXAS. Throughout the pursuit, Jones maneuvered through traffic, disregarding red lights and driving on the wrong side of the road.

The incident unfolded around 3 p.m. on Monday when law enforcement received a 911 call requesting a welfare check on 28-year-old Ariel Levy, according to KDFW. The caller informed authorities that Levy’s boyfriend, Jones, had mentioned he “blacked out and believes something bad occurred,” as stated in the arrest warrant. Police visited the apartment but received no response at the door, prompting them to depart.

Later that evening, around 6 p.m., another 911 call was made by a man who disclosed that Jones had visited his residence and expressed concerns that he may have harmed his girlfriend at their apartment, reported by KXAS.

“Jones showed up to the residence stating that he killed his girlfriend, Ariel, before leaving the location,” police wrote in the arrest warrant affidavit.

A witness at the residence said they tried to keep Jones there after calling 911, but he left. As police were speaking with the witnesses, Jones reportedly drove by in Levy’s car, and police tried to stop him.

After the crash that ended the chase, police still had to use a taser to bring Jones, who was armed with a .380 pistol, into custody.

Meanwhile, officers went to the apartment where Jones lived with Levy and found her dead inside with an apparent gunshot wound. They found an empty casing next to her body, which was the same caliber as the gun Jones had on him when he was arrested.

Police said Jones was uncooperative during interviews.

In addition to murder, he has been charged with evading arrest, KDFW said. A bond has not been set.
