A Washington state woman was arrested this week after apparently unprovoked stabbing attacks on her adult daughter and her mother.
The incident took place Monday afternoon, according to an affidavit describing the attack, KXLY reported.
Teri Suiter’s daughter recounted the chilling incident to investigators, describing how her mother entered her room and viciously stabbed her. Shockingly, the daughter was attacked a second time as she intervened to protect her own child from Suiter’s aggressive actions.
After she got Suiter, 43, out of the room, she heard her grandmother — Suiter’s mother — crying for help and ran to provide that help.
As she ran into the room, she heard Suiter tell her own mother, “I hope you die.”
According to reports from KREM, the situation escalated as Suiter allegedly stabbed her daughter before violently pushing her down the stairs. In a harrowing turn of events, the daughter bravely defended her family by using a baby gate to keep Suiter at bay. She was forced to contact emergency services while Suiter remained armed and a continued threat.
According to the affidavit, deputies used a stun gun to get Suiter to drop the knife.
Tragically, both mother and daughter sustained serious injuries from the altercation. The daughter suffered stab wounds in her back and upper left chest, while the older woman was stabbed on multiple sides of her chest. The severity of the situation was further highlighted as the daughter remained in critical condition, with Suiter’s disturbing words revealing a troubling motive behind the attack.
Both victims said the attack was unprovoked. A statement from the victims was read in court on Tuesday.
“This is not a sane woman,” the statement said. “She has always told me that she wants me dead. This is not her first time being violent, and I want this charged at its highest ability. She was living with us at the time and it just shows that if she could do this to her mother and daughter, she can do it to anyone. There is no telling what she is capable of.”
Suiter was charged with two counts of first degree assault and ordered held on a $500,000 bond. She is due back in court on May 6.
