OP’S DISAPPOINTMENT WITH HER FIANCÉ

OP and her fiancé were childhood friends. They had dated for years and, at some point during their relationship, like most couples, discussed the possibility of getting married.

Weeks after their heartwarming engagement, OP was scrolling through Amazon when something drew her attention. She saw the exact engagement ring her fiancé had proposed with.

However, a quick glance at the price left her disappointed and confused. The ring at the center of their special occasion was listed for just $8. OP rechecked the ring’s features and confirmed it was the same ring her fiancé used to proclaim his love for her.

When she saw the ring for the first time, OP knew it was not very expensive because the colors were already rubbing off, but the fact it was this cheap left her very upset.

OP disclosed she’s someone who does not care for diamonds or very pricey things. She had even told her fiancé that $10,000 rings did not matter to her as long as he truly loved her.

Although she is not a materialistic person or someone who sees money as an indicator of love, OP believed her fiancé should have at least spent up to $50 on something that symbolized their commitments to each other.

The pair both work and have jobs that give them up to $300 monthly in extra spending money, which meant they were not broke, and he could afford it.

After the discovery, OP tried to talk to her fiancé about what she found. He confirmed that the ring she saw on Amazon was the one on her finger and that $8 was the correct price.

Apart from that, her fiancé refused to talk about anything else. When OP tried to brush off the situation without making him angry, he stormed off.

Even though OP was raised poor and had never viewed money as vital to a relationship, she could not help but feel disappointed. Although she had told her fiancé that she would love him even if they were homeless, the situation still saddened her.
