WHO IS YESSICA KUMALA?
Kumala was born in Indonesia on September 2, 1977, to Chinese parents. When she was young, her family moved to the United States, where she acquired American citizenship by marriage.
Despite being in the spotlight due to her husband’s fame, she has opted to keep her family’s private matters out of the spotlight. Kumala does not also disclose much information about her parents and early life.

The supportive wife and caring mother now reside on the island of Oahu with her husband and two children. They relocated after Holloway sold his Honolulu house in 2018. She is a private person as Holloway posts pictures of their children on his Instagram and none of her.
On Mother’s Day 2022, he wished her a happy mother’s day but revealed that she would not let him post any pictures of her. Kumala also has an Instagram account which is private.

HOW DID YESSICA KUMALA AND JOSH HOLLOWAY MEET?
Holloway met the one-time retail director of a Los Angeles boutique at a former Los Angeles hot spot known as Sunset Room in 1999. He said:
“I had no chance from the beginning. […] We met at a bar when I was going to hit on her friends though I didn’t see her.”
Kumala turned around just as Holloway got to them, and she slapped him on his shoulders, looked him up and down, and asked him to give her his number before he left, and she left him there.

While wondering who she was, he went back to hang out with his friends, and she sought him out and slapped him on his shoulders again. This time, Kumala was with her cellphone and asked for his name and number.
When Holloway asked her for her number, Kumala told him that she did not give out her number, and she left again, leaving him intrigued. Later, he found out that she didn’t know his name and had stored his number as “Sunset 4” because his number was the fourth number she got that night.

After a couple of phone conversations, they started hanging out, and in March 2004, Holloway proposed to Kumala. She said:
“You see it a lot in Hollywood: Somebody makes it [big] and drops their partner. He asked me to marry him when he did the ‘Lost’ pilot.”
Holloway and Kumala eloped to Kauai on October 1, 2004 — days after ABC picked up “Lost” for the whole season. They got married in a private ceremony.

YESSICA KUMALA AND JOSH HOLLOWAY’S CHILDREN
Before Kumala and Holloway got married, they agreed that their interest in extensive traveling was not the right way to have a family. However, they later changed their minds and were open to having kids.

In 2005, Holloway and Kumala got robbed at gunpoint in their Honolulu home. The robber woke the couple from bed and took their cash and credit cards. After taking what they had, the robber drove off in the actor’s Mercedes-Benz.
Shortly after the incident, they found the car abandoned. According to the reports, the robber may not have recognized the actor and the Honolulu police refused to release any information on the robbery.

In 2009, four years later, Holloway said he still had a nightmare about the home invasion. However, he took measures to ensure it would never happen again. He said:
“I took the FBI training course. I have home protection.”
In June 2008, Ruben Royce, the robber, was sentenced to 30 years for his three-week crime spree. Holloway revealed that Royce had hit 22 people and attempted to murder one.
