Ryan Reynolds sparks concern after appearing at Hugh Jackman's show looking 'like he hasn't slept for days'

Ryan Reynolds sparked concern with his ‘unwell’ appearance at opening night of his buddy Hugh Jackman’s 24-date From New York With Love residency, which was held at Radio City Music Hall in Manhattan last Friday.

The troubled 48-year-old – who sweated through his embroidered beige shirt – appeared a bit gaunt with an unnatural spray-tanned hue to his Canadian complexion.

Reynolds and his ‘canceled’ second wife Blake Lively are in the midst of a full-blown legal war against Justin Baldoni, the director and star of her last film It Ends With Us, and it’s clearly taking its toll.

Once inside the venue, People’s Sexiest Man Alive 2010 attempted to resuscitate the magic behind his $1.338B-grossing blockbuster Deadpool & Wolverine by manning the ‘Hugh & A’ microphone and heaping praise on his 56-year-old former castmate.

‘I was told this was going to be a comedy version of Les Mis as a one-man show,’ Ryan wisecracked.

‘We all said it was a terrible idea but he carried on. I see he’s duped me once again!’

Reynolds went on to call Hugh – who just went public with mistress Sutton Foster after ending his 27-year marriage – ‘a capital M movie star.’

‘He showed a kind of courtesy and gentleness and curiosity, and he put value into every single crew member that we were working with,’ the Maximum Effort co-founder gushed.

‘He’s my gotcha for life. I mean it.’

Ryan added: ‘But I wanted to actually just say, I love this man, I care about this man. He is, he is genuinely the best human being I know. And I have four children!’

Jackman responded: ‘I love you, Ryan Reynolds, I love you, man. Thanks for coming. And thanks for asking for a free ticket, too.’

Following the obvious PR stunt, fans reacted to the video on Instagram with user @gorgonzola_is scoffing in the comments: ‘Dude looks like he hasn’t slept for dayyyyysssss.’

Instagram user @owenvan_babytravy agreed: ‘He looks unwell.’

‘He looks different than the way he used to be,’ Instagram user @justshenan remarked. ‘He looks struggling inside.’

Instagram user @ninergal82 advised Reynolds: ‘Take a break RR. Might be a better move at the moment.’

‘The PR stunt is SCREAMING in our faces,’ Instagram user @rafagomes commented. ‘Man, you should lay low and avoid more spotlight. It’s not working.’

Instagram user @jennifersaturday wrote: ‘Trying realllllly hard to erase the drama that he and his wife started. Used to love him so much, but now it’s just SO cringy.’

‘This is embarrassing,’ Instagram user @alvaroitziar_quimica commented.

‘He is again trying too hard. He knows people are cancelling him and his wife, and he wants to win people back. You are failing, Ryan.’

Instagram user @3aletheia3 wrote: ‘He’s insufferable.’

‘Both in damage control mode [at the moment]. Both incredibly desperate to win back the public,’ Instagram user @lilykyra1000 commented.

‘Both need to do more than make public and obviously rehearsed professions of love for each other. Both of their recent actions and behaviours speak louder than this publicity stunt.’

Last Thursday, the powerful movie star couple – who wed at a former slave plantation in 2012 – had their attorney Esra Hudson pen a letter to federal Judge Lewis J. Liman requesting a gag order due to ‘extrajudicial statements’ – including leaked on-set footage – made by Baldoni’s lawyer Kevin Fritz.

It all began on December 20 when Blake filed a complaint with the California Civil Rights Department against the 41-year-old filmmaker for sexual harassment and retaliation on the set of the Sony Pictures drama, and revealed her side to the New York Times.

Justin immediately filed a libel lawsuit for $250M against the New York Times for biased coverage of Lively’s ‘vicious smear campaign’ and she filed a lawsuit against him and his PR team on December 31 for his ‘plan to undermine her reputation in retaliation.’

On January 16, Baldoni filed a second $400M lawsuit against the Gossip Girl alum, Ryan Reynolds, and their publicist Leslie Sloan for civil extortion, defamation, and invasion of privacy.
