ITV Masked Singer fans are convinced they’ve rumbled Bigfoot’s identity after the character ‘forgot’ to disguise their own voice.

The show returned earlier this month, with panellists Davina McCall, Jonathan Ross, Rita Ora and Mo Gilligan back again on our screens every Saturday night. This week, the panel was joined by guest judge Ellie Goulding as they tried to work out the identity of the eight remaining contestants.

Confirmed for the latest line-up on Saturday night were Air Fryer, Owl, Eiffel Tower, Piranha, Maypole, Cricket, Bigfoot and Dippy Egg.

So far, Bubble Tea has been revealed as Julia Sawalha, Rat was revealed to be Strictly Come Dancing legend, Shirley Ballas, Chicken Caesar was unveiled as Alexander Armstrong and Weather was revealed as Dionne Warwick. On Saturday night, the Eiffel Tower took to the stage once more to drop a series of clues.

Bigfoot performed a rendition of Craig David’s Rewind and viewers were quick to take to X, formerly known as Twitter, with their predictions of who’s behind the mask – and there was one name that kept coming up – journalist, presenter and Craig David fan, Alex Brooker.

@natalieguest12 tweeted: “Love how Alex Brooker got so excited about singing Craig David he completely forgot to disguise his voice #maskedsingeruk.” @happilycrafting wrote: “Big Foot is Alex Brooker, knew it last week but confirmed with his song choice this week #MaskedSinger”

@teamdonavon_ said: “Got to be Alex Brewer [sic] #maskedsinger,” while @SuzeHopper1 added: “Thank you Mo for finally pointing out #BIGFOOT is Alex Brooker. He’s a Craig David fan so it’s a big giveaway. #MaskedSingerUK.”

@L0URDOFTHEFLIES said: “bigfoot is alex brooker calling it now #maskedsingeruk.”

Fans were quick to speculate that the Bigfoot costume and name is a clue that Alex is an amputee – and the Craig David song choice further helped fans to rumble his identity, as the presenter is renowned for being a huge fan of the star – and has even received a surprise birthday call from him in the past.

But viewers will have to wait at least another week to find out if their prediction about Bigfoot’s identity is correct as the masked singer made it through to the next round, while Owl’s identity was revealed as TV presenter Lorraine Kelly.

Earlier in the series, fans were convinced they’d already rumbled Owl’s identity after her Scottish accident could be heard during a rendition of Kylie Minogue’s Padum Padum. @aaronplem tweeted: “I bloody knew OWL was @reallorraine,” and @PaCaLiEiIs said: “I was right from first show owl well done, @lorraine.”

Viewers were also shocked when they realised that Lorraine had in fact interviewed fellow contestant Julia Sawalha (Bubble Tea) on her show last week – all while keeping her identity a secret. @Angelawoolgar wrote: “So hang on last monday Lorraine was interviewing Julia and asking about what happens backstage all the while being Owl!!! lol total bluff she should be a poker player.”
