CCTV images released as police investigate Sheffield teen stabbing

CCTV images of two men the police would like to speak with in connection with a stabbing in Sheffield on Christmas Eve have been released.

According to South Yorkshire Police, on December 24, 2023, at around 11pm, two men approached a 17-year-old boy on Devonshire Street, Sheffield. He fled and ran inside a shop to avoid the men.

However, the two suspects are alleged to have forced their way inside, before dragging the teenager outside. He received stab wounds to his back, neck and arm. Since this took place, the victim has been taken to hospital. However, he has been uncooperative with officers and the police are now asking the public for their help.

One of the two suspects is described as Asian, aged between 20 and 30, of a medium build around five foot six inches tall and with short black hair. The second man is described as Black, aged between 20 and 30, of a medium build at five foot six inches tall and with short black hair.

The police hope the two men photographed hold vital information. South Yorkshire Police said: “We have released CCTV images of two men officers would like to speak to in connection with a stabbing in Sheffield. On December 24, 2023, around 11pm, it is reported that two men approach a 17-year-old man on Devonshire Street.

“The victim fled and ran inside a shop, in an attempt to evade the men. The suspects are then alleged to have forced their way inside and dragged the man outside, where it is believed they caused stab wounds to his back, neck and arm.

“The victim was taken to hospital and has since been uncooperative with officers and their enquiries. As officers’ investigation into the stabbing progresses, they are hoping the two men photographed will hold vital information that can ensure dangerous people are taken off our streets.

“One suspect is described as Asian, aged between 20 and 30, of medium build and around 5ft 6ins tall, with a short beard.
