As the cold snap continues to grip the UK, we’ve taken a look at just how cold it’s going to be in Yorkshire across the remainder of Wednesday evening (January 17) and into tomorrow morning.

It’s already been a week filled with sub-zero temperatures as snow and ice has disrupted travel, cancelled flights and closed roads across the county. And according to the latest weather forecast from the Met Office, it’s going to continue to stay cold over the next 24 hours.

Temperatures will struggle to stay above zero throughout the rest of Wednesday evening and into Thursday morning (January 18) as The Met Office has forecast temperatures as low as -5C for parts of Yorkshire, with the ‘feels like’ temperature forecast as low as -8C in Bradford and -9C in Richmond.

The ‘feels like’ temperature considers other factors, such as wind speed and humidity. According to the Met Office, this gives you a better idea of how the temperature will actually feel at the time.

The forecast for freezing temperatures comes as parts of Yorkshire including Scarborough, Bridlington and Grimbsy have been issued another yellow weather warning from the Met Office for snow and ice which lasts until 12pm on Thursday, January 18.

Huddersfield – It will be -1C for much of Wednesday evening, before dropping slightly to -2C at midnight. Temperatures will remain the same until 7am in the morning, with a feels like temperature of -5C.

Sheffield – Temperatures will reach a low of -2C at midnight, but it will feel as cold as -4C outside. It will be another chilly start to the day in the Steel City with a temperature of -2C at 7am, but it will feel as cold as -6C.

Leeds – In Leeds this evening, temperatures will remain at -2C before dropping to -3C at midnight. Temperatures will remain at -2C at 8am in the morning, with a feels like temperature of -6C.

Bradford – Temperatures will sit at -3C throughout much of the evening in Bradford. Between 3am and 4am it will feel like the temperature is a freezing -8C. By 8am on Thursday morning, it will still be 3C with a feels like temperature of -7C, so you’ll definitely want to wrap up warm if you’re heading out to work or on the school run

York – It will be -3C in York throughout much of Wednesday evening and into Thursday morning, with a feels like temperature of -7C.

Richmond – Temperatures will vary between -5C and -3C in Richmond tonight, with the feels like temperature dropping to -9C at 2am and only reaching -8C by 9am.

Northallerton – It will be as cold as -4C degrees in Northallerton throughout the evening, warming up slightly to -2C by 8am on Thursday morning however it won’t be much of a noticeable difference, as the feels like temperature will remain at -7C.
