Katie Lowes achieved another milestone in her career following her latest role as Racheal in “Inventing Anna.” But apart from her blooming acting career, Lowes is a devoted wife and a doting mom.

Katie Lowes is best known for her role as Quinn Perkins in the ABC political drama series “Scandal.” Since the show ended, Lowes has explored other roles, including “Inventing Anna,” which aired earlier this year.

The actress was born in Queens, New York, in 1982. She enrolled in New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts to further her studies, where she earned a BFA in acting.

Lowes steadily worked her way up the Hollywood ladder. She made her acting debut in the 2004 film “Rescue Me” and got roles in other projects such as “Guiding Light,” “Hate” and “Damage Control.” Lowes made an appearance as a blood donor in a 2011 episode of “Grey’s Anatomy.” 

The 39-year-old had undoubtedly become a bigger star than when she first came into the movie world. As a result, many fans are curious about her romantic life. Lowes is happily married to fellow actor Adam Shapiro, and the couple shares two lovely kids.

LOWES IS HAPPILY MARRIED

Lowes and Shapiro have known each other for the best part of their adult lives. During an appearance on “Live With Kelly and Ryan,” the couple revisited memory lanes, talking about how they met.

Lowes confessed that they both had awkward impressions of each other after their first meeting. Shapiro felt Lowes was a weird theater girl, while the “Scandal” actress was put off by his personality.

The “Inventing Anna” star described her longtime husband as someone who thrived in the spotlight, claiming she preferred to stay away from the limelight. Yet, despite their opposing personalities, the lovebirds have stayed married for about a decade.

Lowes and Shapiro were introduced by their mutual friend, who put in a good word for both parties. However, things didn’t start all rosy as Shapiro revealed that Lowes stood him up on their first date.

Although the couple found their common ground and began dating, the “How We Roll” actress was dumped by Shapiro a month into their relationship. In his defense, the actor said,

“She was a lot.”

Both actors admitted that they always knew they were meant for each other, and their fans couldn’t agree more, judging by their Instagram posts. Lowes shared a lovely picture of her and her man last year, celebrating their 9th anniversary.

She wrote, “years married to this stud. 15 years total. you’re the love of my freakin life adam shapiro. @shappyshap.” 

Lowes and Shapiro share two lovely children and live in a luxury Studio City home with their old dog, Roger. The couple welcomed their son, Albee, in 2017 and added to their family in late 2020. Lowes shared a lovely post to announce the arrival of her newborn. She wrote,

“and just like that, we’re a family of 4! Meet our baby Vera Fay Shapiro. Born 11/22. @shappyshaps and I love you, V, get ready for some good times!”

SHAPIRO IS A MOVIE STAR AND A DOTING DAD

Lowes’s husband, Shapiro, has several high-profile movies in his portfolio, including “The Den” and “Nobody Walks in LA.” But beyond his career, Shapiro is a doting dad to his two kids.

His Instagram posts show how much of a hands-on dad he is. The actor enjoys parenting his children with Lowes, but the actress once hinted that baby number 2 could be their last attempt at expanding their family.
