No, this is not an episode of The Secret Lives of Mormon Wives, it’s Doctor Odyssey and things are getting wild.
This week, there’s chaos aboard The Odyssey as Dr. Max (played by Joshua Jackson), Avery (portrayed by Phillipa Soo), Tristan (acted by Sean Teale), and Captain Robert (Don Johnson) are dealing with a mix-up that resulted in a double booking involving two very distinct groups. On one side, we have the “sex positives” group, led by Whitney Cummings, who are reveling in their freedom and sexuality. On the other side, there are the “tradwives,” a term coined on TikTok to describe women who adhere to traditional gender and marital roles. Needless to say, this cruise is heading for stormy waters.
The big question is: Can The Odyssey’s crew prevent a clash between these two polar opposite communities (which seems highly unlikely), or will tensions escalate as hinted in the teaser trailer — a food fight, perhaps?
Regardless of the outcome, this voyage promises to be a memorable one on the luxurious cruise ship, possibly marking one of its final journeys as ABC has not yet confirmed a renewal for the Ryan Murphy-produced eccentric dramedy’s second season. It seems like divine intervention is needed here. To add to the drama, Max has just confessed to Avery his desire to build a life with her, right after Avery dealt with advances from Tristan. It appears that conflicts extend beyond just the tradwives and sex positives on board.
Will Avery make choice in this week’s episode? Will she opt out and choose herself? We’re just going to have to wait and see. Here’s everything you need to know about Doctor Odyssey Episode 16, including when it airs, who is guest starring, and how to watch.
Yes, there is a brand new episode of Doctor Odyssey on tonight. The new episode airs on ABC at 9 p.m. local and drops on Hulu the next day.

No cable? No time to watch live? No sweat! New episodes of Doctor Odyssey, including “Shark Attack,” upload to Hulu the next morning at 3:01 a.m. or 5:00 a.m. You will need to have a subscription, which can be purchased for as low as $7.99 a month (or $79.99 per year) for an ad-supported option. Plans on the higher end go all the way up to $89.99 per month for the Hulu + Live TV with Disney+ and ESPN+ bundle.
It’s war on The Odyssey this week as two vehemently opposed groups traverse the ship as the result of an accidental double booking. “Mayhem ensues on The Odyssey when high-profile book tours for trad wives and sex-positive groups are double-booked. As tensions rise, Max, Avery and Tristan provide medical attention to both VIP authors,” the logline for Episode 16 reads. This one is going to be good!
Among this week’s guest stars are former Disney Channel actress Kelli Berglund, best known for her role in Lab Rats and Starz’s Heels. She boards the ship as one of the “trad wives” who are at war with the sex-positive cruise passengers. On the sex-positive side is Mona Yeager, a famous sex therapist and author played by Whitney Cummings.
