Golden State Warriors fall to fourth loss to spark alarm bells in the Bay Area

Following a loss to the Detroit Pistons, the Golden State Warriors now have a negative record of 3-4, with the credentials of the reining champions now being seriously questioned.

The team’s performances have been marred by inconsistency with their 128-114 loss to the Pistons seeing them collapse in the second quarter when they scored just 18 points in response to the Pistons‘ 34.

The Warriors have now lost back to back games to the Charlotte Hornets and now the Pistons meaning their attack is currently the 19th best in the league with their defense one position lower in 20th.

“We’ll get out of this. We haven’t shown our identity yet,” Warriors coach Steve Kerr said after the game.

While the Warriors are too good a team to languish towards the bottom of the league for too long, the warning signs are there that the current champions may struggle to match their exploits from last year.
