Inter Miami wants Tata Martino as their new head coach, according to reports

Inter Miami is in search of a new head coach after recently firing Phill Neville following poor results. And according to various media reports, the MLS team wants an Argentine for the job.

Gerardo Tata Martino is the favorite to take over after resigning from his position as coach of the Mexico Men’s National Team following their poor time at the Qatar 2022 World Cup, where they did not even get past the group stage.

According to TUDN, sports journalist Luis Omar Tapia reported that the team presided by David Beckham wants to acquire Martino‘s services.

Would Martino help Messi arrive at Inter Miami?

The sports media outlet detailed that the club hopes that having the former coach of El Tri in the dugout, they can make the connection so that Lionel Messi agrees to go to play in the MLS.

It is worth remembering that Tata was Messi‘s coach between 2013 and 2016, both at Barcelona and the Argentina Men’s National Team.

However, in the event that it materializes, the arrival of the 10 of Argentina to U.S. soccer would not be immediate, as Luis Omar Tapia explains, Messi would first be loaned to Barcelona so that his formal farewell with the Catalans can take place.

According to Infobae, the U.S. team would offer Messi a contract for around 53 million dollars per year for four seasons.

According to TUDN, the transactions between Inter Miami and Barcelona could be fruitful financially, since Messi would not arrive with a big contract that cannot be accepted by LaLiga, and in case he returns on loan, the chances of getting it done are increased.
