AN alleged British drugs mule appears in court today as she fights charges that could see her jailed for 60 years.
Kim Hall, 28, was stopped at a Chicago airport on her way home from Mexico in August.
Investigators found 43kg of cocaine, worth £15million, in her two suitcases.
The self-employed beautician, of Middlesbrough, previously told The Sun: “There’s no way that I would knowingly transport drugs.
“I’m not a bad person. I’ve never been in trouble in my life and I’m not guilty of what they are accusing me of.
“I didn’t knowingly smuggle drugs.
“I’m not a drug trafficker and I’m going to fight to prove my innocence with every bone in my body.”
Hall stated that she was given a complimentary trip to Cancun by two individuals she encountered in Portugal. However, upon reaching Cancun, they coerced her and intimidated her into transporting bags with illicit contents back to the United Kingdom.
She says she was told they were packed with $250,000 in cash and had no idea she was actually carrying drugs.
The hearing takes place Wednesday in Chicago.
