Bologna have equalled their best start to a Serie A season in the three points for a win era (7 points as in 2019/20 and 2002/03); the last time they won at least three of their first four games in a top-flight campaign was back in 2001/02.

Inter have won their last 17 home league games; only three teams in Serie A history have embarked on a longer winning run on home soil: Torino in 1948 (21), Milan in 1950 (19) and Juventus in 2014 (25) and in 2017 (33).

Meanwhile, Bologna boss Sinisa Mihajlovic makes two alterations despite his side’s 1-0 victory over Hellas Verona last time out. Olsen and Sansone come into the starting line-up, with Orsolini and Barrow finding themselves on the bench.

Inter manager Simone Inzaghi makes four changes after the 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday. Darmian, Calhanoglu, Perisic and Dzeko all drop to the bench, with Dumfries, Vecino, Dimarco and Correa replacing them in the side.

Bologna substitutes: Arthur Theate, Emanuel Vignato, Sydney van Hooijdonk, Riccardo Orsolini, Adama Soumaoro, Luis Binks, Wisdom Amey, Federico Santander, Ibrahima Mbaye, Mitchell Dijks, Musa Barrow, Francesco Bardi.

Bologna (4-2-3-1): Lukasz Skorupski; Lorenzo De Silvestri, Gary Medel, Kevin Bonifazi, Aaron Hickey; Nicolas Dominguez, Mattias Svanberg; Andreas Skov Olsen, Roberto Soriano, Nicola Sansone; Marko Arnautovic.

Inter substitutes: Andrea Ranocchia, Alexis Sanchez, Matteo Darmian, Alex Cordaz, Aleksandar Kolarov, Roberto Gagliardini, Ionut Radu, Edin Dzeko, Ivan Perisic, Hakan Calhanoglu, Martin Satriano, Danilo D’Ambrosio.

Inter (3-1-4-2): Samir Handanovic; Milan Skriniar, Stefan de Vrj, Alessandro Bastoni; Marcelo Brozovic; Denzel Dumfries, Nico Barella, Matias Vecino, Federico Dimarco; Joaquin Correa, Lautaro Martinez.

A win for Inter would take the reigning Serie A champions to the top of the table – at least temporarily. However, they must overcome a Bologna side who are level on points with the Nerazzurri after three games.
