A freshman from California State tragically passed away in a drowning accident while on vacation with his fraternity brothers in Arizona. The Sigma Pi Fraternity at Cal State Fullerton confirmed the incident.
Simon Daniel, 18, was visiting Lake Havasu River with his fraternity on Saturday when he decided to go for a swim with friends.
The young college student went into the water accompanied by three fraternity brothers and two sorority members. Unfortunately, they were unaware that heavy rains in the Havasu Valley had caused a significant increase in water flow, leading to dangerous conditions such as strong currents, crosswinds, and swells, as reported by the fraternity on Facebook.

Daniel’s body was recovered Sunday morning following an extensive search by authorities.
Daniel, who was pursuing a degree in computer science, is deeply missed by his family, especially his mother, as stated by the fraternity. At this time, family members of Daniel have not provided a response to inquiries from Fox News Digital.
