With Cristiano Ronaldo no longer starting every match for Manchester United, he is able to relax a little more ahead of kick off than he might have done in the past.
In the past couple of games, he has even left the team’s warm-ups to walk over to the sideline and greet former teammates.
Ahead of Manchester United vs Liverpool, he famously ignored Jamie Carragher while hugging Gary Neville and Roy Keane.
Now, in the pre-match of Southampton vs Manchester United, he ignored another person, this time greeting Rio Ferdinand, Paul Scholes and Peter Crouch but not Lynsey Hipgrave as the BT Sport crew were standing pitchside.
Hipgrave was able to make a joke about it, though, even referring to the more awkward situation that had taken place on Sky Sports with Carragher.
“I was the one being blanked this time, which I wasn’t too happy about,” she said.
Ronaldo then came off the bench in that match, as Manchester United ground out a 1-0 win.
