AN Earthquake measuring 4.1 magnitude rocked multiple states on Saturday morning.
The tremors that spread hundreds of miles hit several areas including Atlanta, Georgia, Knoxville Tennessee, and South Carolina.
The United States Geological Survey (USGS) reported that Greenback, Tennessee was hit with 4.1 magnitude just after 9 am local time.
The quake is reported to have hit just 13 miles southeast of the city near the Tennesee-Georgia border with tremors felt as far as 120 miles away.
People living in the impacted areas quickly went online to talk about what was happening as the Carolina Weather Group YouTube Page started a live broadcast.
“Definitely the worst one i’ve ever felt living here my whole life,” one wrote.
“That was terrifying,” another added.
“I’m here in Tennessee and I feel my house shaking,” a third said as others described their water tanks creating waves.
So far there are no reports of any damage with 4.1m being a minor quake, according to USGS.
Taking to X, one person called the experience “absolutely nuts” saying it was the “first ever earthquake you could actually feel in Atlanta.”
“Whole place shook for nearly 10 seconds,” they wrote.
A seismograph from the South Mountain State Park in North Carolina shows the moment the tremors were registered at 9:05 am.
