Tony Bellew, British boxer, assured that, if Canelo Alvarez can reach his best boxing moment, he has the way to beat Dmitry Bivol, but he has many things to improve.

“If he’s at his best, he beats Bivol – I think he’d beat him, but he wasn’t at his best (on fight day), so he has to do better,” Bellew said on DAZN Boxing Show. “He’s got to do better; some people will say it’s the matchups of what he’s doing. You want to set the standard that high? You have to keep it up and stay there. He’s amazing; he’s still up there pound-for-pound.”
Bellew also weighed in on the pound-for-pound rankings, and couldn’t credit that Canelo was taken off the list.
“Everyone took him off the pound-for-pound list when he lost to Bivol. Absolutely disagree; he’s still up there for me. But there are some things he has to do better.”

In Bellew’s same chat with DAZN, the Englishman said he repeatedly watched the Canelo-Bivol contest, and in his analysis, he noted that the Mexican has everything to beat the Russian.
“I’ve seen the fight two or three times, I see that he got tired, he wanted to try to do something, but his body didn’t respond to him. Nobody likes to lose,” said Bellew.

“I don’t know when, but I want that fight because I think about Bivol. It was a very competitive fight in the first round for me, but then he got consensual and I think he only won one round after that. And like I said, he lost, but he’ll get his chance for a rematch,” Bellew commented.
