The View‘s Joy Behar poked fun at her sometimes contentious relationship with executive producer Brian Teta during Wednesday’s (June 11) broadcast.
Behar and her co-hosts were discussing the rise of no contact orders being issued on college campuses that could indicate students are becoming more conflict-averse. After Alyssa Farah Griffin commented, “You have to learn how to co-exist with someone. It’s kind of a critical life skill,” Behar connected it to her experience working with Teta.
“Sure, it’s like me and Brian. He could take out a restraining order against me, right?” she asked.
The camera then cut to Teta off-stage as he playfully admitted, “Iâve looked into it.”
Teta regularly jokes with the ladies about them being difficult to work with. During a conversation about artificial intelligence, he once told them that he didn’t think AI could ever take his job away from him.
“I figured mine was pretty fine because what computer could handle you guys?” he joked, causing Whoopi Goldberg to snap, “You work an hour a day! What are you talking about?”
It was Behar who ultimately came to his defense. âBut that is some hour,” she said.
However, Teta did share that he got some “shockingly good” advice from an AI program about how to calm Behar down.
âIt said, âLead with humor. But donât go with slapstick or corny jokes.â She doesnât like those,â he read. ââLet her vent. Occasionally nod, listen, and say, youâre absolutely right,â which is one of my moves. âBring up politics but only if youâre aligned with her, otherwise run away. Compliment her standup past.â She likes that. âAnd then finally, hand her a cannoli.’â
He then surprised Behar with a tray of cannolis.
Behar seemed to agree with Teta’s thinking after that. âThey canât replace us,â she said. âNot this hair color, anyway.â
