MTV’S “Laguna Beach” was one of the first reality shows centered on teenage life and drama, and it launched one of the show’s members, Stephen Colletti, into stardom. One of the show’s central themes was the love life of the teenagers, Colletti included.

During the show, fans were introduced to Colletti’s high school girlfriend, Kristin Cavallari. The couple dated for much of their senior high school years, which was documented on MTV. Also, on the show, Colletti had a fling with Lauren Conrad.

After the show ended, Colletti got into another famous relationship with then-18-year-old “Heroes” star Hayden Panettiere. Later, he got into a two-year relationship with a dancer, Chelsea Kane, and is currently dating journalist Alex Weaver.

Stephen Colletti Has an Impressive Dating History

One of Colletti’s earliest love stories involves his on-again/off-again relationship with Cavallari. The pair began dating in the fall of 2003 before starring in the reality show “Laguna Beach.” However, by 2005, they considered themselves just friends and continued to be so for the rest of the 2000s.

While Colletti was still with Cavallari, the couple was described to be in a love triangle that included Conrad, Colletti’s BFF. Colletti confirmed during a “Laguna Beach: Back to the Beach” podcast that he did hook up with Lauren at various times. Still, like with Cavallari, Colletti’s romance with Conrad also died after high school.

In the early 2010s, Colletti was involved with arguably the most high-profile person on his girlfriends’ list, Hayden Panettiere. The pair dated for over a year before calling it quits in September 2013. Panettiere spoke about their break up, referring to it as amicable.

In 2011, Colletti dated “Dancing With The Stars” performer Kane. Kane, a fan of Colletti since his early days on MTV, recalled that they were set up on a blind date by her manager. The couple was very much in love to the extent that Colletti would attend some of her sessions on her dance show.

Colletti and Weaver became Instagram official after he shared a picture of the two with the caption, “Magical hours are a bit more magical this year,” supposedly about Weaver’s presence in his life. Weaver approved, noting in the comments section that she was the “Luckiest girl.”

Although Weaver is a media personality, she is perhaps unknown to people outside the NASCAR world. Much of her personal or professional information is found on her LinkedIn profile, where she is said to be an experienced multimedia journalist.

Having graduated from Clemson University with a bachelor’s degree in Communication and Sports Broadcasting, Weaver has since established a long track record in the broadcast and social media industries. She began working for NASCAR a year after college and has experience at media houses such as ESPN.

Stephen Colletti Has Some Regrets over His Reality TV Past

Although his appearance on MTV’s “Laguna Beach” put him in the spotlight, it was not a wholly positive experience for Colletti. He became a household name by starring as a real-life high school student whose everyday life was documented by the broadcast network.

Speaking to People magazine in 2022, Colletti acknowledged that, in retrospect, he did not think that being on the show was the best idea. He said, “I honestly don’t think anyone should be on reality TV until you’re 18, and even then, it’s questionable.”

His high school sweetheart, Cavallari, was not in complete agreement, noting that although some moments weren’t great, “There is nothing that I regret or that I look back on with distaste in my mouth.”

She emphasized the idea of being at least 18 years before starring in a reality TV series, as they did not honestly know what they were getting into. She added that she is not proud of some of the things she said on the show.
