Son of Tiger Woods, Charlie Woods, emerges victorious in his first AJGA event, Team TaylorMade Invitational

BOWLING GREEN, Fla. — Tiger Woods needs to make room on his trophy shelf for son Charlie.

A 16-year-old golfer achieved his first victory at the Team TaylorMade Invitational, held at the Streamsong Resort Black Course. He finished the three-round tournament with an impressive 15-under 201 on Wednesday. Starting the day at 9-under 135, he ended with a final round of 6-under 66, securing a win in a field of 71 players, including four of the top-five ranked players in the American Junior Golf Association.

During his final round, the young golfer made eight birdies, two bogeys, and closed the game with four straight pars. He secured a three-stroke victory over a three-way tie for second place among Luke Colton, Willie Gordon, and Phillip Dunham, all top players in the tournament.

In his fifth appearance in an AJGA event, the golfer posted scores of 70, 65, and 66 across the three rounds. This win marked a significant improvement from his previous best finish of a tie for 25th place at the Junior Invitational held at Sage Valley in March.

Woods already counted several wins on his resume, with his first coming in the 14-15-year-old category at the Hurricane Junior Golf Tour’s Major Championship in June 2023. Later that year, he won the Last Chance Regional golf tournament.

Last summer, he qualified to compete at the U.S. Junior Amateur but failed to make the cut.
