The former United States attorney who was found dead over the weekend had suffered from a “longstanding medical issue,” Fox News has learned.
The body of Jessica D. Aber, 43, was found at a residence in Alexandria, Virginia, on Saturday. Authorities have not disclosed the specifics surrounding her death. However, a family friend informed Fox News that Aber had been dealing with a chronic medical condition.
“Police believe the death was the result of a longstanding medical issue,” the source said.
The Alexandria Police Department (APD) wrote on Saturday that it had received a call about an “unresponsive woman” at around 9:18 a.m. that morning.

An attorney expressed gratitude towards Senators Mark Warner and Tim Kaine, as well as President Biden, for the opportunity to lead an office. The attorney also acknowledged Attorney General Garland for his strong leadership. The attorney stated, “I am proud of the work we have accomplished with our law enforcement partners at the federal, state, and local levels in upholding the law and fostering community trust.”
In a statement posted on X Saturday, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi expressed her condolences over Aber’s death.
Pam Bondi, in response to Aber’s passing, expressed deep sorrow. Bondi referred to Aber as the former U.S. Attorney for the Eastern District of Virginia. Bondi extended thoughts and prayers to Aber’s family and friends during this challenging period.
