Mattie Denise Jackson Looks Stunning in White Dress Celebrating Her Bridal Shower

The eldest daughter of country star Alan Jackson shared a later-gram on March 4, 2022, of her bridal shower a few weekends ago. Mattie Denise Jackson radiated joy in a white sundress, surrounded by many friends in flower prints.

Mattie Denise Jackson uploaded photos of the day’s activities and gourmet dishes, captioned, “Is it Italy? Is it Bridgerton? Or is it just beautiful springtime in Tennessee?? I couldn’t have left feeling more celebrated, full, and loved!”

The sporty bride-to-be and her pals played a “botched” game of croquet, but she still rated the day a total win. Last weekend she and roughly the same group of women and her sisters, Alexandra Jane Jackson and Dani Grace Jackson, spent a few days at the Sea Pines resort on Hilton Head Island.

The best-selling author said in the post, “I couldn’t ask for better friends and sisters to shower me with love and prayers and fun as I begin this new life with Connor. […] The countdown is now officially on!”

On their six-month anniversary, the podcaster posted that he has been “one surprise after another.”

Connor Smith proposed to Mattie on a Palm Beach getaway to celebrate her 30th birthday in September last year. The podcaster posted that she felt “overwhelmingly thankful, excited, and thrilled for this kind of surprise but so fervently prayed for ENGAGEMENT.”

During the “honeymoon phase” of their marriage, Mattie Denise Jackson lost her husband, Ben Selecman, to complications following a freak accident. The couple began dating as University of Tennessee students.

While the family celebrated the Labor Day holiday in 2018, Ben slipped on a wet deck where his father-in-law Alan Jackson‘s boat was docked. Though he seemed fine after the tumble, off-duty EMTs advised him to go to an ER to get checked properly, and he did. Even so, he tragically died on September 12, 2018, after a blot clot caused multiple strokes.

The young widow penned “Lemons on Friday” in 2021. She told PEOPLE that the volume “is a story about how you go about honestly grieving something that is heartbreaking, that you know God could have stopped.”

Mattie found love again in the “Instagram-less” Connor when happy-hours drinks with her best friend’s brother-in-law turned into dinner towards the end of 2021. On their six-month anniversary, the podcaster posted that he has been “one surprise after another” since the day they met.
