Kai Widdrington is a dancer and choreographer who shot to fame after joining Strictly Come Dancing in 2021 and now he’s established himself as one of the show’s favourites.
Speaking about competing on the BBC hit show Kai previously said that it is a childhood dream come true. He said: “Watching Strictly from the very first series as a young boy from Southampton and now 18 years later.
“To be a professional dancer on the show is the most amazing feeling and the biggest accomplishment of my career. I can’t wait to step on to the Strictly floor and experience the exciting times that lie ahead.”
The star, now aged 28, started dancing when he was just nine years old. And by the time he was 14, he became the 2010 World Junior Latin-American champion.

In 2012 when Kai was only 16, he reached the final of the sixth series of Britain’s Got Talent. He later went on to work as a professional dancer on Dancing With The Stars Ireland and finished twice as runner-up on the show in 2018 and 2020.
Tragic loss
Kai Widdrington was recently left heartbroken by the death Dancing with The Stars Ireland professional; Kerri-Anne Donaldson.
The dancer revealed that they once appeared on Britain’s Got Talent together. Kai paid tribute to her with a sweet social media post.
He wrote: “Heartbroken to hear such sad news that my friend @kerri_annedonaldson is no longer with us. We shared some amazing moments together, memories that will last a lifetime. Your infectious smile will be missed by everyone who was lucky enough to call you their friend. May you rest in peace”

Is Kai Widdrington in a relationship?
Kai has been in a relationship with Strictly Come Dancing co-star Nadiya since last year. The couple had been sneaking around for some time before the general public found out – and went to great lengths to keep their romance a secret.
Speaking to The Sun, Kai opened up about the beginnings of his romance with Nadiya. He explained: “We knew that it would come out and that it would be a big thing, so we kept it private for as long as we could, which was both annoying and exciting at the same time.
“It was one of those things. We would go somewhere and only we knew we were there. Sometimes we would go out in disguise, or baseball caps pulled down low, and we knew this period of time was only going to last a little bit.”
