West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service have explained their operation on Hanging Stone Road between Berry Brow and Honley earlier today.

A witness reported that between three and five fire engines could be seen in the area shortly before 2pm on Monday, November 13. The fire service has confirmed that it responded to reports of a building fire in the area.

Crews were called to the scene on Hanging Stone Road at 1.07pm with fire crews from Meltham, Rastrick and Slaithwaite in attendance. The fire was extinguished and no injuries were reported.

A spokesperson for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called to reports of a building fire at 13.07 to Hanging Stone Road.

“We sent five crews, two from Huddersfield, plus Meltham, Rastrick and Slaithwaite. The fire was extinguished – no reports of any injuries.”
