A man has died in a house fire in Batley.
Emergency services including West Yorkshire Police and the Fire and Rescue Service rushed to the scene of a house fire in Hillhead Drive in Batley on Sunday night (January 21) at around 11.30pm. A man was found inside the address and was sadly pronounced dead at the scene.
Enquiries are ongoing with the fire service into the cause of the blaze, police have said.

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said: “ At 11.33pm yesterday (Sunday), police and fire responded to a report of a house fire in Hillhead Drive, Batley.
“A man was found inside the address and was sadly pronounced deceased at the scene. Enquiries are ongoing with the fire service into the cause of the blaze.”
A spokesman for West Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service said: “We were called last night at 23:31 to Hillhead Drive in Batley to reports of a house fire. We sent two crews from Dewsbury and one from Cleckheaton. Crews used four breathing apparatus, two hose reels and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the blaze.
“Sadly, one person died at the scene, and our fire investigation teams are at the address today to try and determine the source of the fire.”
