Tuolumne County investigators in California are asking for help finding a woman last seen in May 2021.
Kimana Councilman, 23, disappeared near Rocca Park in Jamestown. The sheriff’s office renewed its call for leads last week in a Facebook post.
In May 2020, Kimana Councilman spoke to The Union Democrat about her father, Richard Councilman Jr., who was shot and killed by deputies during a domestic violence incident in Jamestown.
Kimana described her father as a truthful and caring individual, but highlighted his struggles with mental illness, which ultimately led to the tragic outcome. She recalled, “My father was a very honest and loving man. But he was mentally ill. That’s what got us in the situation we are in. He is dead.”
Reflecting on the events that transpired, Kimana shared, “They came to arrest him, and he made the decision knowing wholeheartedly what would happen if he fought back and he made the decision to do so anyway. My father would have rather been dead than in prison.”
Councilman is described as standing 5-foot-5-inches tall, weighing about 120 pounds, with brown hair, brown eyes, and a pentagram tattoo on her right wrist.
Anyone with information on her whereabouts should contact the Sheriff’s Investigations Division at (209) 533-5815.
