A mum known for sharing household tricks has revealed how she gets her bathtub sparkling without using any harsh chemicals, and her other tips to turn your bathroom into a day spa.
Mum-of-two Chantel Mila, from Melbourne, explained that getting rid of soap scum and ugly rings around the bath can feel like hard work.
But this simple mixture doesn’t ‘require any difficult scrubbing and takes the hard work out of cleaning your bathtub’.

Mum-of-two Chantel Mila, from Melbourne, explained that getting rid of soap scum and ugly rings around the bath can feel like hard work, but this simple mixture doesn’t ‘require any difficult scrubbing’ (pictured with one of her kids)
To make the DIY mix, Chantel said you first of all need to mix half a cup of warm white vinegar with a quarter of a cup of dishwashing liquid.
The mum-of-two uses dish soap from Nontre, which is Australian-owned, non-toxic and natural.
Once you’ve mixed these two ingredients together, Chantel recommends you apply the mixture to your bathtub and let it sit on there for 15 minutes.
‘This mix cuts through tub rings and soap scum,’ Chantel said. ‘All you then need to do is rinse it to reveal a clean bathtub.’
Thousands who saw Chantel’s DIY method were impressed and said they would certainly be giving it a go in their own homes.

According to Chantel, the first thing you need to do is set your washing machine to between 40 and 60 degrees Celsius. Let the towels air fry, but then tumble dry them for a few minutes until they are completely dry (pictured)
Chantel has also shared her tips and tricks for helping to transform your bathroom in the past, including the secret to spa-worthy towels.
According to Chantel, the first thing you need to do is set your washing machine to between 40 and 60 degrees Celsius.
Throw your towels in and add liquid detergent as well as half a cup of plain, white vinegar instead of fabric softener.
‘Do the wash as normal, shake the towels and let them air dry when they come out until nearly dry,’ Chantel said.
‘Then, tumble dry them for just a few minutes until completely dry. This will help with softness and absorbency.’
The reason why vinegar works so well instead of fabric softener is that it ‘breaks down the residue from detergents leaving the towels soft and fresh’.
A two-litre bottle of plain, white vinegar typically costs around $1.20 from the supermarket.
The five-step method for ‘spa-worthy’ towels

1. Set the washing machine to 40-60 degrees Celsius.
2. Add the towels to the washing machine, along with liquid detergent and half a cup of plain, white vinegar.
3. Do the washing cycle.
4. Shake the towels when they come out and let them air-dry to practically dry.
5. Give them a few minutes in the tumble dryer to make them completely dry. This will help with softness, fluffiness and absorbency.

‘Bring the spa home to you. This type of fold is space-saving for storage and also looks luxe in your bathroom,’ Chantel wrote.
The footage shows her lying a plain blue towel down on a flat surface, like the kitchen table or the end of a bed.
She then folds in the top right side to the halfway mark to make a triangle before reaching for the top left side and folding from that corner across, all the way to halfway.
What you’re left with looks like a folded paper plane.
Next you flip the towel over, and starting from the left side, start rolling it up like you would any other towel.
You’ll get to a point where the ‘triangle’ leftover will be all that remains, and this gets tucked into the side of the rolled up towel.
It’s efficient and prevents the towel from unravelling when you place it down on a flat surface.
