Emma Stone is in a revelatory mood — well, sort of — in the first promo for her upcoming Saturday Night Live return.

The Poor Things star is set to host SNL this Saturday alongside musical guest Noah Kahan. Stone’s appearance will mark her entry into the NBC sketch series’ famed Five-Timers Club following four previous installments as host, the most recent of which aired in April 2019 as part of season 44 and included performances from singing group BTS.

In the black-and-white video released Wednesday, Stone dramatically takes her place on the stage of Studio 8H. She asks the empty room, “What’s the secret to comedy?”

The answer can be seen in the footage below, but viewers should be aware that Stone is in no rush to get to it.

The actress’ latest feature, Poor Things, hits theaters next month and reunites her with filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos, who directed Stone in the 2018 title The Favourite. Poor Things, which returns Stone to Oscar contention, also stars Mark Ruffalo, Willem Dafoe, Ramy Youssef, Christopher Abbott and Jerrod Carmichael.

SNL, which launched season 49 last month, announced earlier Wednesday that Adam Driver will lead the Dec. 9 episode with musical guest Olivia Rodrigo, while show alum Kate McKinnon makes her hosting debut Dec. 16 with performances from Billie Eilish.

The season’s most recent episode aired Nov. 18 and featured Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom star Jason Momoa as host, along with music from Tate McRae. The episode’s cold open included Bowen Yang as a giant panda who steals attention away from President Joe Biden (Mikey Day).
