Dillian Whyte did not show up for the public training session in London on Tuesday, as The Body Snatcher preferred to stay in the Algarve, his base since the pandemic began.

However, the contender flew to England in the afternoon ahead of attending the press conference on Wednesday with Tyson Fury.

Whyte continues to do his own thing, keeping his distance and not getting too involved in the promotion of the heavyweight fight, at least until now. For his part, the Gypsy King did attend the media event with his trainer Sugar Hill Steward and his father.

“He is for all those who have not been lucky enough to have the genetic gift of a good body,” said John Fury, joking about Tyson‘s physique. “That body gives hope to everybody, he’s the best heavyweight in the world.”

During the exhibition session, Tyson Fury adopted a southpaw stance, and this is what he was asked about first.

“We all know I’m ambidextrous and I can punch with both hands,” Tyson Fury said. “I’ve had knockout wins with my right and my left, so I’m just sharpening everything up and I’m ready to rock and roll.”

The WBC champion revealed that he was watching videos of some of boxing’s greats in preparation for the bout with Whyte.

“I was inspired by George Foreman, Larry Holmes and Joe Frazier,” Tyson Fury said, before showing his humour and confidence.

“I’ve had a great camp, we’ve had a lot of fun and we’re expecting a good, hard fight and, if it’s anything less and we’re in for a short night, I think I’ll go straight to the bar.”
