In the NFL it is said that defenses win championships and sometimes this is true, even though most MVPs are quarterbacks.

Usually defenses rely on great systems, however, there are also players who excel in these units and they are often the nightmares of the NFL’s star quarterbacks.

Packers’ Rodgers enjoyed taunting Bears fans after getting “the double bird”AP

That is why two legends of the sport, Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback Tom Brady and Green Bay Packers pass rusher Aaron Rodgers, unveiled the defensive secondaries that caused them the most displeasure on the gridiron.

Ed Reed and Charles Woodson were the picks

Ed Reed, legendary defensive back for the Baltimore Ravens was the name that Brady released, while Rodgers said his former teammate Charles Woodson.

The season that ended last February with the Los Angeles Rams‘ coronation at home against the Cincinnati Bengals did not feature either of these two.

Tom Brady, in the 2021 season, was sacked 22 times. It is not the highest number in his career, but he did accumulate four straight campaigns with more than 20 sacks. Rodgers, meanwhile, was sacked 30 times.

Pressure is another key within linebackers for the quarterback to make a mistake. Last season, Brady was intercepted 12 times, while Rodgers was intercepted only four times.

Fan reactions

After releasing the names, some fans reacted on social media and talked about it.

One fan replied, “Was there ever a better era than Ed Reed, Sean Taylor and Troy Polamalu?”

Another fan posted, “I love how Belichick and Brady kept praising Ed Redd when he was a real nightmare when they played against him. Two of the best recognizing another all-time great player.”
