Sarah Hyland is the latest actress to get accused of poor on-set behavior.
The actress, who rose to fame on “Modern Family,” is in the spotlight following accusations made by comedian Jeff Dye, her former co-star in “The Wedding Year.” Dye publicly criticized Sarah Hyland, claiming she exhibited “rude” and “tyrannical” behavior while on set.
Speaking on “The George Janko Show,” Dye detailed his encounters with Hyland, portraying her actions as disrespectful towards those she worked with and stating that she contributed to a hostile work environment.

Dye’s remarks, which touch on Hyland’s interactions with extras and crew members, have sparked discussions on power dynamics and interpersonal relationships within the entertainment industry.
“In the time that I had to be on set, Sarah Hyland was the lead,” Dye shared on Thursday’s episode, acknowledging his role in the rom-com lasted only about “30 seconds.”
Dye, who previously dated Kristin Cavallari from 2020 to 2021, alleged that Hyland was “rude to everyone,” describing her as a “pretty woman who chain-smokes and is terrible.”
The 42-year-old comedian further claimed that Hyland once complained to director Robert Luketic about extras eating from the craft services table. “She was annoyed that some extras wanted some f-cking free granola bars … like it was in her kitchen or something,” Dye recounted.

He also alleged that Hyland “hated” him, recalling an instance in which she told him, “You’re what is wrong with people.” Dye speculated that Hyland’s disdain for him may have been due to his gender, claiming she is “not used to masculine energy of any sort.”

Another incident Dye recounted involved Hyland showing cast and crew members the trailer for the 2019 live-action “Dumbo” film on her phone.
“They’re all in this hierarchy of Hollywood where it’s like, she’s No. 1 on the call sheet, [so] we have to, like, pander to her. If she’s mean to us, just let her be mean to us, and if she’s sad, pretend like it’s OK that she’s sad,” Dye explained of the on-set dynamics.
He recalled Hyland tearing up while watching the trailer, to which he bluntly responded, “That looks gay.”
“I didn’t even mean it. I just wanted to ruin the moment,” he admitted on the podcast. “I ruined her little showpiece.”

Fortunately for Dye, this interaction allegedly took place on his final day on set. “She thinks she’s so important, and this is, like, the whole industry,” he continued.
When asked whether his own behavior contributed to Hyland’s alleged dislike, Dye insisted she treated everyone the same way. He claimed to have “checked in with everybody” on set, all of whom allegedly agreed that Hyland was “mean.”
Dye even joked that the cast and crew found unity in their shared frustrations with the actress. “I think, actually, people found camaraderie in hating her,” he said. “Like, she was the island.”
Despite potentially facing backlash for his comments, Dye remained unapologetic. “Don’t care at all,” he said, insisting he was “just being honest.”

The accusations come amid another high-profile controversy involving Blake Lively and her ongoing legal battle with “It Ends With Us” co-star Justin Baldoni.
Lively has also been accused of on-set misconduct, with claims that she engaged in abusive behavior. However, the “Gossip Girl” star has hit back, filing a lawsuit against Baldoni in which she accuses him of sexual harassment and leading a calculated smear campaign against her. In response, Baldoni has countersued for defamation, alleging that Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, leveraged their Hollywood influence to damage his career.
