Gypsy Rose Blanchard Reveals Baby Aurora In Sweet Valentine’s Day Post

The 32-year-old, who recently welcomed a new baby, is showing off a bold new look, debuting a chic bob haircut over the weekend.

Gypsy Rose Blanchard took to Instagram on Saturday to unveil her new hairstyle, revealing that she had chopped off the majority of her hair.

Gypsy displayed her new short brown hair in a close-up selfie, revealing a white halter-neck top set against a subtly textured, light grey background. Her makeup was kept natural, accentuated by a light dusting of blush on her cheeks and a nude-toned lipstick.

“New year, new mom, new haircut, new me,” she captioned the photo, which gained a mixed reaction from her followers.

“No!!!!!!! I loved the way your hair was,” one social media user said.

“Gyp what is this,” another asked as a third wrote, “girl what the hell is this.”

Many of her followers praised the change. “It’s good to switch things up every now and then, and I’ve always believed that it’s like shedding all the negativity that your past holds onto. You look stunning,” one fan commented.

Having gone through years of alleged mistreatment by her late mother, Dee Dee Blanchard, Gypsy Rose has dedicated herself to supporting others. “I want to make a difference in any way possible,” Gypsy Rose expressed, underscoring her ongoing commitment to aiding abuse survivors and those in vulnerable situations.

“So what I’ve been wanting to do for a very long time is to donate my hair to a charity that makes wigs for people that have hair loss or that are going through cancer,” she said in the video at the time, explaining that her hair has been donated to a charity called The Great Cut.

“I have had my own personal experience with hair loss not by means of health reasons but if you know my story you’re very familiar with those reasons why,” she added.

Gypsy Rose was released from prison in December 2023 after serving 85% of her 10-year sentence for pleading guilty to second-degree murder of Dee Dee Blanchard.

Her story drew national attention as it was revealed that Gypsy Rose had been a victim of Munchausen by Proxy. Many believe Dee Dee fabricated her daughter’s illnesses and subjected her to unnecessary medical treatments for years.

As told in the documentary, “Mommy, Dead, And Dearest,” Dee Dee subjected Gypsy Rose to unnecessary medical treatments, surgeries, and medications. Gypsy Rose underwent procedures such as having a feeding tube inserted, undergoing surgeries to remove her salivary glands, and taking unnecessary medications that caused side effects and health complications.

Opening Up About Her Mother’s Deception

“I always had this stuffed animal or a Barbie doll, [and Dee Dee would] just tell me [to] ‘play with your Barbie doll, and when the doctor comes to examine me, just stay in the wheelchair; be calm; play with your doll, and don’t move your legs,’ ” Gypsy revealed of her doctor visits.

“I was just as much in the dark as much as everyone else,” Gypsy stated in the 2017 documentary. “[The] only thing I knew is that I could walk. As for everything else, the leukemia the epilepsy, I was taking medication that [Dee Dee] said was cancer medicine.”

Over the course of nine years, Dee Dee took Gypsy Rose to the hospital over 100 times, per medical records shown in the documentary.

As told in the 2017 documentary, Dee Dee received financial benefits and donations from charitable organizations, such as Make-A-Wish Foundation, due to Gypsy Rose’s false medical conditions.

She used Gypsy Rose’s fake illnesses to gain sympathy and financial support, a symptom of Munchausen Syndrome by Proxy.

After the now 33-year-old discovered the abuse she was enduring, she conspired with her then-boyfriend to help murder her mother. Dee Dee was stabbed to death in her home.
