Whoopi Goldberg and Ana Navarro have HEATED exchange over Donald Trump 'panic' on The View

The View kicked off the week on a fiery note as the hosts argued over how to prepare for Donald Trump’s return to the White House.

During Monday’s show, Whoopi Goldberg and Ana Navarro provided contrasting suggestions for individuals feeling anxious about the possibility of a second Trump presidency.

Goldberg, aged 69, advised viewers to stay calm and enjoy the holiday season with their loved ones. On the other hand, Navarro, aged 52, acknowledged the challenges some may face in trying to maintain composure leading up to the January 20th inauguration.

‘All we have to do, from now until January 21st, is be with our families, be with our kids, do our jobs, make sure our checks don’t bounce, make sure that we are taking care of ourselves and our families,’ Goldberg emphasized.

‘Whatever he’s going to do, he’s going to do. But do take our word for it, things seem to move slowly. Because yeah, they didn’t come get Hillary. But he has other people who are ready to go but I don’t think that they can just go out and do what they want,’ Whoopi said.

Ana, however, argued they had the ‘luxury’ to relax when others did not.

‘I told you last week I disagree with you when you say that, because we have the luxury of saying that, because we’re legal, we are successful,’ Ana explained. ‘If you’re an illegal immigrant in this country, you’re not going to be not in a panic. If you are a woman working for the Department of Defense, you have a right to be in a panic!’

For Whoopi, the issue was more about urging calm. ‘Ana, you tell people to stay fraught and like this,’ she said.

But Ana was insistent viewers needed to ‘prepare’ themselves with ‘winter’ approaching.

‘No, I’m telling people to prepare, Whoopi!’ Ana said.

‘Do you think they’re not prepared? They are prepared!’ Whoopi said.

‘That means that they can’t be relaxing and enjoying Christmas when winter is coming,’ Ana said.

Whoopi fired back that ‘winter’ had already arrived.

‘You know what? I’m sorry, winter is here,’ Whoopi said. ‘Winter’s been with us, and my point is, we can lay down and do nothing for the next 15 days and then be freaking out for the next four or two years.’

‘We are in a privileged position that a lot of people who are going to be under his attack are not,’ Ana continued.

‘I have family who is going through the same thing,’ Whoopi said.

Alyssa Farah Griffin, who once worked with Trump in his administration but is now an outspoken critic of him, said, ‘I’m on his enemies list, and I’m not panicking.’

‘We have to figure out what we’re panicking for!’ Whoopi continued. ‘We don’t know what we’re panicking for! They’re throwing 50,000 things at you to make you do this. I’m saying, don’t buy into that.

‘Do what you have to do. Take care of your family! And when we know what is happening, when we know what we’re fighting, we’ll get out and fight. That’s what I’m saying. I’m not saying don’t do anything, I’m saying don’t be this!’ she said.

It’s not the first time the duo have butted heads over this particular topic.

Late last month, Goldberg shut down Navarro for prematurely stoking fear about Trump’s second term as president.

The daytime talk show’s panelists disagreed about how to speak of the president-elect after Griffin shared that she decided to tone down her rhetoric until she sees what Trump actually does once in the White House.

Goldberg took issue with Navarro after the frequent CNN contributor said ‘she is not going to wait and see’ what Trump does to warn others of the danger she believes he poses.

‘There’s nothing to be done until you know what you’re fighting,’ Goldberg fired back. ‘Pissing in the wind doesn’t help! You just get a wet face.’

Navarro had previously stressed that Trump ‘has told us he’s a retribution’ and ‘is going to be a dictator.’

Goldberg responded that, ‘You lose credibility in many different ways,’ with such rhetoric.

‘If you don’t know what you’re talking about and you accuse him of something, then they’re gonna blow it back,’ the Oscar winner said.

‘That’s why I say we need to wait and see exactly what [he’s] gonna do.’
