The Boston Celtics remained unbeaten in two consecutive games in the playoffs and based on a spectacular offensive performance by their Big 3 of Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum and Marcus Smart, took a resounding 116-100 win over the Golden State Warriors to take a 2-1 lead in the NBA Finals on Wednesday night in Game 3.

Brown, Tatum and Smart were too much for Warriors to handle

Boston has lost seven times in the current postseason, however, each time they have won the next game, the game’s leading scorer in Brown, who racked up 27 points, 17 of which came in the first quarter in which the Eastern Conference champions took a 33-22 lead.

For his part, Tatum added 26 points and nine assists and Smart contributed 24 points and seven rebounds.

The Splash Brothers could not win alone

In the second quarter, the 17-time NBA champions took a maximum lead of 18 points, however, in the third period, the Warriors came from behind almost heroically and with less than four minutes to play, took an 83-82 lead, the Splash Brothers (Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson) accumulated 25 points in that partial that ended with a score of 93-89 in favor of the Celtics.

But the key was the defense, especially in the fourth period, in which Golden State was limited to 11 points, just as in Game 1, the rim was closed for the Western Conference champions, for whom Draymond Green had a game to forget, he was ejected for six personal fouls, only scored two points and recovered four rebounds.

Stephen Curry was the leading scorer of Game 3 with 31 points, while Klay Thompson contributed 25 for the losing cause.

What’s next for the Celtics and Warriors?

Golden State will have a second chance to regain home-court advantage in Game 4 of the 2022 NBA Finals is played this Friday, June 10 at 9:00 pm ET again at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.
