Raphinha‘s press conference after Barcelona‘s friendly against Inter Miami has gone viral, with the new signing already seemingly stirring things up ahead of the pre-season Clasico.
The Brazilian player, though, has since insisted that he did not claim that the Catalans were “better than Real Madrid“, ahead of their game in Las Vegas in the early hours of Saturday morning, but that he was particularly motivated for the game.

The Brazilian footballer has shared a video where he says: “We always want to play a Clasico and score against Real Madrid. I’m really looking forward to playing these games because for me they are the best”.
The initial transcript of his words, in Portuguese, quickly went viral on social media, with many surprised by the alleged statement that Barcelona were a better side than the Spanish and European champions.
But the player and club were quick to make it clear that the footballer’s quote had been misreported.
Controversy aside, Raphinha has never faced Real Madrid in his professional career.
This Saturday he will have a good opportunity to introduce himself to Barcelona‘s eternal rivals, after he’s already made a good impression against Inter Miami.
