FC Barcelona started its training session with drills that had players like Sergio Busquets, Gerard Pique, Memphis Depay, Ousmane Dembele, Serginho Dest and Jordi Alba high-fiving each other.

Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-Andre ter Stegen, meanwhile, practiced on the side.

The next drill for the players was a form of keep-away but a lot more extreme, as an extra player kept getting added to the middle of the circle.

After the “monkey in the middle” drill, the Barcelona training session continued with some sprints in front of the cheering crowd.

Sergio Busquets and Andreas Christensen held a press conference prior to the start of Barcelona’s training session.

Sergio Busquets and Andrea Christensen walked out to the press conference room to take a picture with Inter Miami head coach Phil Neville.

They first started with questions in Catalan and Busquets talked about the addition of Robert Lewandowski.

Busquets called Lewandowski a “world-class” player and said he’s excited to play alongside the former Bayern Munich striker.

Christensen then answered a question in English regarding his first week with the team, saying he’s excited to get started.

“I feel like it’s been a good week,” Christensen said.

Regarding Lewandowski, Christensen said everyone is happy that he’s with the team and praised the forward by talking about his career accolades.

Busquets continued his praise of Lewandowski and wished him well in the season for Barcelona.

When asked about his future, Busquets said he feels great physically and is not thinking about retirement as of now.

He also spoke of the team’s new signings, saying it’s the first time in a while that they’ve been able to pick up new players due to several circumstances in the past.

Busquets touched on Inter Milan’s run this season and said he started liking the MLS since David Villa played for New York City FC.

“I’ve always liked MLS since David Villa came here,” Busquets said. “I try to watch it when I can due to the time difference.”

Christensen echoed Busquets’ comment that he wishes he could watch more MLS games but they’re played while it’s the middle of the night in Europe.

Both Busquets and Christensen also said they have friends and former teammates in the MLS that they try to follow.

Christensen said he’s looking forward to playing despite the humidity and heat being much worse than he had anticipated.

Busquets closed the press conference by speaking of Barcelona’s upcoming game against Pumas UNAM of Liga MX, saying Mexican teams always fight hard and hopes for a great game.
