Authorities in South Carolina announced they will not pursue legal action against a boater who allegedly killed a person he assisted in rescuing from the ocean. Following rescuing a drowning guy and his girlfriend when they tumbled from their jet ski, an aged South Carolina boater and his spouse shot to death the 29-year-old guy after a quarrel onboard the ship. The 74-year-old boater, who has not been revealed to the public, rushed to Lake Keowee on Tuesday to rescue Nathan Drew Morgan and his girlfriend. Official court documents say the couple was not wearing protective jackets and that the jet ski was encircling them. The older couple said Nathan Drew Morgan turned aggressive and assaulted them after pushing them into his party boat.
Nathan Drew Morgan got into an argument with his savior after just being rescued from the water, and his partner shoved him down again into the waterbody in an effort to reconcile the tension, according to the district attorney’s office. He might just have decided to go back on his jet ski, according to authorities. Nathan Morgan continued being hostile, and the old man killed him, saying investigators he was afraid for his and his wife’s life. Nathan Drew Morgan, succumbed to death of a bullet wound to the chest aboard the vessel, according to the Oconee District Medical examiner’s Office. The results of the autopsy are still awaited but the Sheriff’s department believes that Nathan could have been drunk leading to his aggressive behavior.
Nathan Morgan was a part of Flat Shoal Christian Church and liked recreational sports and had hobbies such as being on the lake and boating, as per his obituary. He left behind his 10-year-old child. Relatives of the deceased challenged the unusual events surrounding the incident. They claimed that the elderly couple was concealing the whole information. Nathan’s friends mirrored the sentiments and demanded that the situation be investigated further by Oconee officials. They stated Nathan was a calm, quiet man who would never do something like this unless he was provoked first.
