Marcus Rosier was arrested Saturday and faces charges of tampering with evidence, abuse of a corpse and possession of ammunition by a convicted felon, said Indian River County Sheriff’s Office spokeswoman Debbie Carson.
Carson said investigators were unaware of Rosier’s hometown. She said that Rosier and Romo knew each other, but did not know the nature of their relationship. Indian River County sheriff’s deputies found the body in a canal at 28th Avenue and 41st Street near Gifford, according to a Facebook post from the sheriff’s office.

Officers were called to the 28th Avenue area near 41st Street after someone reported a “shocking number” of vultures in the neighborhood.
When officers arrived, they found a body in the water of the nearby canal. According to the Indian River County Sheriff’s Office, Romo was two and a half months pregnant. Detectives are investigating his death as a homicide. Officers discovered the body in the water around 5:43 pm Friday after someone called to report a “shocking number” of vultures in the neighborhood.
Carson said the investigation is ongoing, but investigators believe Rosier is the only suspect identified in this case. Sheriff’s officials initially reported that Romo was more than two months pregnant, but later determined there was no evidence to support that after finding her body, Carson said.
