Though Taylor Swift’s famous female friends, widely known as the “Squad,” might be on everyone’s radar, the superstar’s low-key friendship with long-time music collaborator Jack Antonoff is the unsung hero of the 12-time Grammy-winning singer-songwriter’s tight-knit inner circle. The two music geniuses first crossed paths in 2012 at the MTV EMAs, and that chance encounter led to their first collaboration, “Sweeter than Fiction” — a track featured on the soundtrack for the 2013 motion picture “One Chance.”

That was just the beginning of a beautiful partnership — both in their personal and professional lives. Since then, the dynamic musical duo has worked together on numerous hit records, including “1989,” “Lover,” and “Midnights,” having created some of the biggest fan-favorites, including “Getaway Car,” “August,” “Cruel Summer,” “Anti-Hero,” and many more.

Antonoff, the eight-time Grammy-winning lead vocalist of the rock band Bleachers, has also lent his musical talents to the “Folklore” singer’s massive “Taylor’s Version” series as she continues to re-record the masters of her first six albums. In a beautiful full-circle moment, Antonoff has coproduced and cowrote all five “From the Vault” tracks off her highly anticipated “1989 (Taylor’s Version),” the 2014 release of which marked the first Swift album the two worked on together.

From their mutual admiration and support of each other to their magical synergy in the studio room — Antonoff and Swift’s rock-solid friendship is one for the books. As we collectively celebrate the newly released pop bible, relive the memorable moments of Swift and Antonoff’s sweet camaraderie over the years ahead.
