Bianca Vanessa Andreescu is a Canadian professional tennis player who reached a career-high single ranking No five by the Women Tennis Association (WTA). The playas started playing tennis in Pitesti at 11, under Gabriel Krista, when her family moved back to her parent’s native Romania. A few years later, 19 years old returned to Canada, where she trained at the Ontario Racquet Club in Mississauga.

Andreescu further joined Tennis Canada’s National Training Program in Toronto and started getting more serious about her career from the age of 11. She got advised and encouraged by her Halep to turn professional.

Professional Career Of Bianca Andreescu

Bianca won her first WTA title at Newport beach in January of 2019. The win took her to a career-high ranking of no 68 when she passed Eugenie Bouchard to become a Canadian, top-ranked player. The 19-year-old won her first WTA tour title by defeating Elina Svitolina in the semi and Angelique Kerber in the semifinal in the finals, vaulting no 24 to her name.

In the US Open, she later defeated Belinda Bensic in straight sets to reach her maiden Grand slam final, where she faced Serena Williams for a chance to her maiden Grand slam.  

Bianca surprisingly defeated Williams in the straight and set to become the only Canadian to win the grand slam title. Also, the first woman to win the title in her debut and the first player to be born in the 2000s. The win propelled her to no five positions in the WTA ranking.
