Controversial Video of Meghan Markle’s Baby Birth Dance Sparks Debate Online

No matter what she does, it looks like it is getting harder and harder for Meghan Markle to shake off the haters!

What started as a sweet throwback video featuring her husband, Prince Harry, to celebrate the birth of her first daughter quickly turned into a controversial discussion on social media. Users debated whether the video was harmless fun or, as one user described it, “disgusting.”

For Princess Lilibet’s fourth birthday, Meghan posted a flashback video of herself twerking in her hospital room as an attempt to stimulate labor. In the video, she swayed her hips, raised her arms, and twirled around while the song “The Baby Momma Dance” by Starrkeisha played in the background.

In the Instagram caption of the video, where comments were turned off, she wrote, “Four years ago today, this also happened. Both of our children were a week overdue… so after spicy foods, lots of walking, and acupuncture failed – there was one last option!”

In his 2023 memoir, “Spare,” Prince Harry recalled how he “went and stood beside the doctor” because he wanted to be the first person that Lilibet saw when she was born.

“The skin was blue. I worried the baby wasn’t getting enough air. Is she choking? I looked at Meg. One more push, my love! We’re so close,” he wrote in his memoir, as per Peoplemagazine.

“There was only this intense present, and then the doctor turned to me and shouted: Now!” Harry continued. “Gently, but firmly, as I’d seen in films, I pulled our precious daughter from that world into this.”

The publication’s comments section racked up almost 900 comments as everyone weighed in on Meghan’s dancing. “I love this video!!!” one fan exclaimed. “Despite all the negativity, these two keep calm and carry on. Harry can really dance.”

“I love Meghan and Harry. They are so down-to-earth and normal. Wishing them nothing but the best in all that they do,” another reader wrote.

“Not a follower of them, but I see nothing wrong with having some fun while going through labor and delivery,” a third user chimed in. “Wonder if all the haters were hating on other couples who were doing the same thing at that time. People who watch videos of people they don’t like, and then bash them, need to go somewhere and get a life.”

Unfortunately, not everyone thought that her video was in good taste. “It was so crass I thought it was a spoof,” one user commented. “Grinding like a stripper? And sharing it with the world? Poor judgement – just for clicks. Desperation.”
