Denilson Garibo is an activist who appeared in the documentary Homeroom.
The documentary film was made by Peter Nicks. The film stars Garibo himself and Libby Schaaf, his fellow colleague. The documentary is about removing police security from their high school.
Garibo also protested to reduce the voting age in the school’s board decision to 16 for more inclusiveness. Apparently, Oakland High School spent millions of dollars in the police department.
The financial allocation even caused the school’s vice-principal to lose the post.

At the age of 18, Denilson Garibo graduated high school, earlier this year.

According to US Citizenship laws, an undocumented family can receive their green card via a documented child. Denilson hesitated with the movie at first saying he did not want to complicate family issues until it is resolved.

Denilson Garibo will have his career in politics and communication. He is in his sophomore year at Cal State University Long Beach.
Garibo boosted his career since his high school years. Garibo became a member of the Oakland Unified School District’s All-City Council Student Union. He joined the Union after a senior football player in his school was killed.
In 2019, he proceeded to become one of the Student Directors beside Mica Smith-Dahl. Denilson’s work is said to be one of the most necessary and bold in the history of Oakland.
