Zak Madell is a Canadian rugby player known for his impressive striking tries in his games.
Canada faced Great Britain in the first round of the tournament. Unfortunately, the lot with a score of 47-50. Despite losing, Madell established his name by scoring 31 points out of the 47. Madell was the highest scorer in the entire game.
Canada will now face United States tomorrow at 12:45 and New Zealand the day after tomorrow, on 27th at the same time.
Paralympics: Zak Madell Wheelchair Rugby Wikipedia
This is the second participation by Zak Madell in the Paralympics Wheelchair Rugby. Prior to this, he competed in the 2012 Paralympics.
Madell started playing wheelchair rugby for Canada only a year before the 2012 Paralympics. however, the athleticism of the player earned him a spot in the Paralympics team.
Madell was also known as the saviour in the 2012 Paralympics. Thanks to him, Canada reached up to semifinals. Even at the semi-finals, he was the highest scorer for his team scoring 11 points. They won a silver medal.
Besides Paralympics, Madell participates in various other tournaments such as World Wheelchair Rugby Championships and Parapan American Games.
Zak Madell Age And Disability
Born on 1994 28th March, Zak Madell is 27 years old. Zak Madell went through an infection at the age of 10 resulting in his disability.
He was infected by a bacteria called Staph in the bloodstream which cause blood poisoning. In the worst case, the bacteria start eating flesh making amputation urgent. Unfortunately, Madell had to endure such an abomination at such a young age.
But this did not stop young Zak from playing sports. He started by playing sledge hockey but his amputated fingers made it hard for him to hold the sticks. So, he moved on to wheelchair basketball and then to wheelchair rugby.
Zak Madell Wife and Family
Zak Madell is not tied up to a wife and a family of his own. He is loving the wild and free life he has.
Also, he is young and there’s more time for marriage. But this does not mean he does not enjoy female company. Looking at his Instagram, we get a sense of his playful and hedonistic lifestyle of his.
As for family, he makes recent visits to his mother and brother when possible. His brother Cole Madell is too energetic adventurous as him. He does have a companion with him though. He considers Charlotte, a Canadian Australian Shepherd dog as his family.
