Strictly fans say 'not on my 2024 bingo card' as Rat unmasked on ITV The Masked Singer

Viewers of ITV’s The Masked Singer were left surprised and shocked after Rat was revealed to be a Strictly favourite.

Dancing fans tuned in on Saturday evening to watch the show, as Olly Murs joined the judges panel for the latest episode. After a number of performances, it came down to the final two with Dippy Egg taking on Rat.

It was Rat who was eventually voted out, and fans of the show were surprised at the identity of the masked singer. It was revealed to be none other than Strictly Come Dancing head judge Shirley Ballas.

None of the judges had guessed correctly, and very few fans had either, meaning the prevailing reaction across social media was one of shock. @xlauracarverx said: “I did not expect @ShirleyBallas to be on the masked singer”.

@reieesc added: “Shirley ballas singing Nelly the elephant on mask singer was not on my 2024 bingo card”. @jordanlea29 wrote: “I’m sorry Shirley ballas on the masked singer…..WHATT?!?!”

@MilenaZP_ said: “#maskedsinger Shirley!!!! I give up with the clues!” Then, @xMissGemCx added: “Wow, did not expect Shirley Ballas at all! Tbf the first 3 celebs unmasked have all been quite big names”.

Meanwhile @Kane_Enthusiast said: “Shirley Ballas on the masked singer I was not expecting that omg”.

However, some had managed to guess Shirley was the Rat. @ctyr3 said: “The first masked singer that I have ever correctly guessed!” Then, @amiemetcalfe added: “My 12 year old guessed Shirley Ballas from the word go and I obviously told her it’ll never be her…”
