Matt LeBlanc has written a touching tribute to his iconic Friends co-star Matthew Perry, who died unexpectedly on Oct. 28 at age 54.

“Matthew,” began LeBlanc in a post to his Instagram on Monday (below), “It is with a heavy heart I say goodbye. The times we had together are honestly among the favorite times of my life.”

He continued, “It was an honor to share the stage with you and to call you my friend. I will always smile when I think of you and I’ll never forget you. Never. Spread your wings and fly brother you’re finally free. Much love.”

He then added, “And I guess you’re keeping the 20 bucks you owe me.”

Along with the message to Perry, LeBlanc shared five photos of the pair of actors, who played longtime roommates Joey (LeBlanc) and Chandler (Perry) on the beloved, hit NBC series that ran for 10 seasons from 1994-2004. The final picture is of all six castmates huddling backstage in a group hug.

On Oct. 28, the Los Angeles Police Department discovered Perry unresponsive in the hot tub at his Los Angeles home. His cause of death remains under investigation, with the L.A. County Medical Examiner’s office awaiting toxicology results after completing the autopsy. The case was listed as “deferred” on its website, before being taken down from the site.

Following the news of Perry’s death, his five Friends co-stars Jennifer Aniston, Lisa Kudrow, Courteney Cox, LeBlanc and David Schwimmer released a joint statement, saying: “We are all so utterly devastated by the loss of Matthew. We were more than just castmates. We are a family. There is so much to say, but right now we’re going to take a moment to grieve and process this unfathomable loss. In time we will say more, as and when we are able. For now, our thoughts and our love are with Matty’s family, his friends, and everyone who loved him around the world.”
