It seems like this is not the first performance that Kelly had done in her life, but it definitely has been the most fun to watch. Ever since her video of Kurdi singing and doing sign language during Chicago’s Lollapalooza have gone viral, it has amassed over 9 million views on TikTok as of Tuesday morning.

Previously, the song had already garnered a lot of attention and criticism for its explicit nature.

Who Is ASL Interpreter Kelly Kurdi?

Kelly Kurdi is an American Sign Language Interpreter. She currently works as a freelance interpreter in Houston. 

As per the ASL Grades, Kelly has a ‘State license for TX: Level I, Basic’ certification.

She does not teach sign language classes but promotes those who do it. She is also featured alongside fellow music interpreter Amber Galloway Gallego’s Webpage under her ‘Music Family.’ She apparently formed the ASL Music Camp with Galloway Gallego and Rocco Lauricella.

Kurdi is a multilingual interpreter who graduated from Gallaudet University, an institution for deaf people. She spoke to AmeriDisability and said.”I do at least forty to fifty events per year, and that may include four shows per day.”

Furthermore, she encourages the idea that every concert should at least have one interpreter, which should be treated as a normal thing.
