Who is David Exley ?
The devastated father of a “fit and healthy” young mother who died suddenly while she was 29 weeks pregnant, said doctors told him she would be alive today if “she had gotten the vaccine.”
David Exley, 57, said her daughter Sadie, 24, had a perfect pregnancy and had no complications until she suddenly started suffering from migraines and chest pain.
But after tests at Pinderfields Hospital in Wakefield in October this year, the mother of two was diagnosed with a blood clot in her lung.
Her condition deteriorated after she caught Covid in late November, and a week later she was rushed to St James Hospital in Leeds after being paralyzed on one side.
She was then transferred to Leeds General Infirmary

Doctors were able to save little Elliot who was born by cesarean section at 29 weeks and weighed just 2.1 pounds.
Heartbroken David from Birstall said: ‘I got the news over the phone, it was sheer panic. I drove straight to the hospital.
I don’t know how to describe how I felt. My head was a shed.
‘I didn’t eat for days, I was just waiting to know if she was going to be better.
They tried to save her, but it was obvious that we had lost Sadie.
“They saved baby Elliot, but they couldn’t save our Sadie.”
David said Sadie began complaining of chest pains and migraines in October, and when she was diagnosed with a blood clot, “the alarms started to sound.”
But she was shocked when the doctors sent her home and told her to inject herself with blood thinners.
At the time, Sadie was living with her mother Jill Allen, 48, who cared for her along with David from her as she was in constant pain.

On November 24, Sadie caught Covid but had no symptoms and doctors assured the family that she was “fine.”
David said: ‘She caught Covid while she was healthy, and Covid does a lot of things. He works on his weaknesses within his body.
“What Covid did was stimulate the red blood cells to produce small clots.
“Over time they got bigger and bigger.
“She had symptoms for a month and then a blood clot in her brain caused a hemorrhage by then it was too late.”
Sadie was due for a scan with her midwife as they thought the baby was too small and she decided
‘… And when it was all over, we talked to the consultant.
“I asked him honestly if she had the jab when she could have had it, and he said he couldn’t tell 100 percent, but he thought she would still be here.”

But in the early morning of December 2, Sadie woke numb on one side and fell before being paralyzed on the ground until 8 a.m. when an ambulance arrived.
As she had done with Covid, David was not allowed to see her, but Jill told him that she was ill.
David added: ‘I was not allowed to enter A&E even if we had a bubble. They let Sadie’s mother in but tried to kick her out.
Sadie was sick, she was alone. She was so scared and really sick.
“ The staff said that because she was positive for Covid, Jill had to leave and that was the last time he saw her alive. ”
Sadie tragically died on December 3 despite the heroic efforts of the doctors, and David and Jill were allowed to say goodbye to Sadie one last time.
The electrician said: ‘They let us come in and say goodbye to her and she was in her little room. She had surgery on her head, she was completely shaved.
Doctors told David that even if Sadie

Doctors told David that even if Sadie had regained consciousness, she would probably never be herself again due to the damage to her brain.
He said that he felt “sadness” but also “relief” because he didn’t want her to live like this for the rest of her life.
David added: ‘The main thing was that they were trying to save Elliot.’
Fortunately, little Elliot has made a good recovery and is a ‘fighter like his mother’ according to David.
Single mom Sadie is survived by hers by her little Elliot and hers by her two-year-old Harper’s son, and David said he will make sure the couple ‘knows everything about her’.
He said: ‘Harper keeps asking us to call Mom so she didn’t figure out what happened, and she probably she never will and Elliot will never meet her.
But we’ll make sure you hear stories about her. Apart from really knowing her, they will know everything about her.
Paying tribute to Sadie, David said that she was a “fantastic dancer and mother” who was not only her daughter, but also her best friend.
He said: ‘She was a very funny girl, she always laughed. We were father and daughter, but we were good companions.
She was always dumb as a brush. She was very funny. And she was a fantastic mom.
“ She was independent and she took it all in stride.
She “she danced since she was three years old and she danced all her life. She was a fantastic dancer.
She “ she studied dance in college and loved it, and she danced at Euro Disney in Paris when she first opened. She was the highlight of her career. ‘
Sadie’s funeral is scheduled for January 7.
Her co-workers at B & M in Batley closed the store when they learned of her passing and have since organized a fundraiser to help the family.
