Who is Norris Henry ?
A man has been charged with murder and attempted murder following a double stabbing in west London.
Norris Henry, 37, is charged with the murder of Ali Abucar Ali, 20, and the attempted murder of an 82-year-old woman, who were attacked at Albany Parade in Brentford on Friday night.
Mr. Ali died at the scene and the woman was taken to hospital with serious stab wounds.
Mr. Henry is due to appear in Uxbridge Magistrates Court on Monday.
The woman, who has not been officially named, is in serious condition at the hospital, but her injuries have been assessed as non-life threatening, Met Police said.
A crowdfunding page for Ali has raised over £ 50,000, surpassing its original target.
On the page, supporters called Mr. Ali a “brave young man” and an “honored member of our local community.”
Samale Nur wrote: “Ali was a wonderful young man who always encouraged my children to do their best while coaching them in basketball.
“A true selfless hero.”
Abdulsatar Abdi Aden, who created the crowdfunding page, said: “May Allah raise up our beloved brother Ali.”
Victim
The 20-year-old victim, Ali, was described as a hardworking man who had recently won a scholarship.
Ali’s mother was quick to comfort Betty’s family before receiving devastating news from the police that her son had been stabbed to death.
Betty, affectionately known as ‘Betty Boo’ by all of her friends, has lived in Brentford her entire adult life and was a waitress at four local pubs before retiring.
She has been described as a ‘rock’ to her three sons and her three daughters after her husband died more than 30 years ago.
She now she also has 10 grandchildren, 12 great-grandchildren and a great-great-granddaughter.
Her eldest daughter, Bridget, 60, said: ‘Everyone knew Mom. She has lived in Brentford for 60 years.
“ She was alive and fit, she walked every day and she was a strong woman and she went shopping a lot, she was not frail at all.
The crime scene was being guarded by officers today as they collected evidence about the attack in Brentford.
He worked in four pubs and worked very hard.
“Sadly, her husband died more than 30 years ago, so she raised us alone and was the cornerstone of the family.
‘This will probably have upset her quite a bit.
After her operation, she was able to talk to us on the phone and asked us about the soccer score this morning.
I came back from work last night and they told me they ‘stabbed mom’. He was so scared and in complete shock.
I’m glad she’s alive.
‘We just want to thank the police and all the neighbors who helped our mom.
They were there instantly and kept us posted. They are heroes.
“We pray that our mother makes a quick and full recovery.”
Ali’s family declined to comment when she approached him.
Bridget added: ‘I knew him and his mother. They are a very good family. ‘
